Church House By Ruud Visser Architects & Peter Boer

A luxurious house built from a church is an oxymoron in itself but thats what Ruud Visser Architects in collaboration with Peter Boer have achieved. The Church House doesn’t completely blanches out its historic roots but there is an unmistakable air of modern aesthetics. Built along the river De Rotte, the house is a private sanctuary to a family of four and is an impressive architectural fusion of history and progress. With a volume of 3000 cube, the house successfully marries indigenous gothic with straight-line Dutch to be viable in today’s modern real estate context. There is no doubt that the Church House is a study of contrasts and is noting short of a meditative experiment that leaves a lasting impression.
