Who doesn’t dream of owning their own villa especially in some beautiful corner of Europe? The Villa Rotterdam by Ooze is a great example of living the good life without falling in the ostentatious trap. Architects Ooze of Paris and Rotterdam renovated the residential villa by cleverly wrapping a new faceted skin over the house’s existing building. The house has been redesigned without tearing it apart and a new staircase, a kitchen and extra bedrooms were incorporated in the spaces between the old building and the new facade.
“We simply connected these points” says Eva Pfannes, the architect who designed the transformed house along with her studio partner, Sylvain Hartenberg. And the clients were happy as well and said:“The house is a precedent in establishing a new culture of dealing with an existing structure.
