Retro Kitsch: 10 Small Kitchen Appliances
From a civic and political standpoint, there may not be many things about the 1950s worth repeating, but when it comes to the simple pleasures of domestic decor, there’s still a certain sweetness to the designs of the day. For today’s roundup of small kitchen appliances, we thought we’d take it back… waaaaaaaay back… to the days of Leave It to Beaver, Father Knows Best, bobby socks and poodle skirts. Awash in easter egg colors, these blenders, mixers and coffee makers greet us with a sunny disposition and a devil-may-care approach to cuteness. And while we’re on the subject of their visual appeal, their lines aren’t bad either. Luckily, the phrase “they just don’t make ‘em like they used to” doesn’t apply here; retro kitsch is back with a vengeance, and it’s looking pretty boss indeed.
