Bathtub Built for Two: The Yin Yang Tub by Trautwein

It goes without saying that a bathtub built for two is certainly romantic. But what if one person loves piping hot water while the other prefers lukewarm?  Or, say, it’s difficult to recline in a space that’s theoretically built for two people but in reality is still a bit cramped?  The bathroom experts at Trautwein came up with an unlikely and very expensive yet entirely fascinating solution: the yin yang tub.  Divided into two teardrop-shaped vessels, this $55,000 luxury has more than a dividing line comprising its hefty price tag; fully equipped with soundwave massage capabilities and colored LED lighting, each bather can enjoy his or her own water temperature, light color and massage speed. And, in its own odd way, it’s kind of eco-friendly too. ”Temperature, bathing additives and the colour of the light can be chosen individually,” Trautwein explains. “Also in terms of hygiene, the separation of the bathing water is an optimal solution. If a single person books a bath, only half of the water quantity is needed.” That’s good news, since this bathtub costs roughly the same as a luxury car; when it comes to the water bill, we’re thinking every penny counts.
