Archinoma’s Y-BIO housing shelters may just be a glimpse into the future. These ad-hoc or temporary structures encourages nature friendly habitation in the open air and have been currently set up on the Black Sea coast. Connecting with the natural elements both physically and spiritually, are dominant themes in Y-BIO philosophy and the design has been inspired by the Sierpinski pyramid mathematical model. Made up of demountable modules that don’t require a permanent foundation, the Y-BIO housing unit is hung up with 3 chains to 3 vertexes of 3 tetrahedrons and the use of steel tubes ensures that the houses remain stable.
