Firehouses are not necessary the paragon of great architecture, however the Feuerwehr Wartberg Fire station is an exception. Built in Austria, the contemporary styled fire department is situated in the entrance of the village of Wartberg ob der Aist. The building has an engine room and the garage doors, the front yard and the practice areas are located down the slope. The highlight is the translucent drill tower and the sand-blasted concrete facade. Built between 2005 and 2009, this 6-garage concrete fire station complements its stunning surroundings beautifully.
