Gianluca Paludi’s Washbasin System That Can Fit in a Bag
This Post Was Updated On
My Bag is an unusual washbasin system, created by the designer Gianluca Paludi for Olympia Ceramica. A piece of bathroom furniture that is acting as a suitcase: can be closed when necessary, transforming into a functional countertop, or even stored away when not needed.
A strange, somehow, portable bathroom that can even be used like a normal luggage when you travel, if you choose to travel with it. Once you open the suitcase, inside you’ll find a generously sized hand a sink with faucet and mirror. Nothing is left unused in this design, that’s why, the handle of the suitcase takes over the support function for the towel. Above that, the washbasin system has on the right side two compartments: a round one for the toothbrush and toothpaste and the other one which is more spacious for soap, lotions, creams and other necessary items. The taps are also foldable and able to be stored inside the suitcase while the small removable wooden compartment encloses a practical make-up mirror.
The washbasin is the fixture that gives the bathroom its personality, and what better way to do it, then with the use of My Bag. The concept behind the piece is to offer strictly the functionality needed from a bathroom sink in a minimalist object that can be perfectly integrated into any type of bathroom. Designed as a travel piece, but hardly seeing someone who’s gonna buy this system for that purpose alone, My Bag is a cool bathroom furniture design that can be placed in any bathroom environment, being able to create a dynamic atmosphere both in the home and in the contract environments that you want to differentiate. It brings innovation and individuality to those who want to transform their private space with a bold, original and at the same time, sophisticated design.
